Sigal Chattah & Her “Convict Connection”

You should know about Sigal Chattah and her “Convict Connection:”

  1. Questionable Judgment #1: While running for the Nevada state office of Attorney General in 2022, Sigal Chattah texted that her opponent, incumbent AG Aaron Ford, a Black man, “… should be hanging from a f—ing crane.”
  2. Questionable Judgment #2: Sigal Chattah introduced convicted felon Tony D’Anna to the late Judge Melanie Tobiasson, who later presided over a case involving D’Anna’s home invasion and strangulation of his then-girlfriend. Tobiasson ultimately dismissed the case.
  3. Questionable Judgment #3: Sigal Chattah, who already had known Tony D’Anna for quite some time (well over 10 years ago; Tony had taken me to meet her at her somewhat shabby offices on Rainbow), introduced Las Vegas businesswoman Vickie Dehart to him at Piero’s, a well-known Italian restaurant near the Las Vegas Convention Center. When D’Anna realized the kind of money that Dehart had, he persuaded Vickie (who ultimately became his girlfriend and who still is his current girlfriend) to donate thousands of dollars to her campaign for Nevada Attorney General in 2022.
  4. The Epitome of Questionable Judgment: Sigal Chattah has engaged in what I see as the very meaning of the phrase “questionable judgment,” in that she has engaged in a long-time relationship with D’Anna, who is a “known and documented organized crime figure” (named as such by Attorney Thomas C. Bradley, Prosecuting Officer for the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline in a disciplinary case brought against the late Judge Melanie Tobiasson — see Paragraph 13, Page 4) and in various news reports such as this one in the Las Vegas Review Journal, Pg.3, and who has now been appointed as the interim United States Attorney for the District Attorney for Nevada, who has benefited financially and with status.
  5. Influence #1: The tentacles of Sigal Chattah’s political, judicial, financial and personal relationships are wide ranging and she wields her bulldog-like personality to manipulate all to her benefit.
  6. Influence #2: Leading up to her 2022 AG election, D’Anna boasted that if Chattah was elected, he would have, as he termed it, “the juice.”
  7. Influence #3: According to information I have received, Sigal Chattah allegedly introduced D’Anna, also at Piero’s, to a woman named Carol Jimmerson, who is married to prominent Las Vegas attorney Jim Jimmerson. Sometime later, Carol Jimmerson had a very expensive ring stolen from her in a robbery that happened in a parking lot in Summerlin. (Watch LVMPD video on the robbery here: Carol Jimmerson Ring Robbery.) Note: this case was never solved to this day, and has disappeared from the radar except for the link here.
  8. The Payoff: Sigal Chattah’s introduction of D’Anna to Vickie Dehart paid off in a big way. Sigal was able to get thousands of dollars in donations, and D’Anna got a $1.5 million house, a Rolls Royce Ghost, a Ferrari SF-90 (and currently a Ferrari 488 Pista), not to mention a number of high-end vehicles. Let’s not forget about the introduction to Judge Tobiasson, which resulted in a huge payoff for D’Anna in that she dismissed the domestic battery and strangulation case that was brought against him (Case No. 18F01395X)
  9. Details: I am going to explain in great detail below and throughout this website what makes the relationship between recently nominated interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada, Sigal Chattah, and convicted felon Tony D’Anna not a typical client-attorney relationship.

Sigal Chattah, because of her line of work as an attorney here in Nevada, is involved with many criminals and accused criminals. That’s natural.

But there’s one particular felon, one convict who is of special note: Anthony “Tony” aka “Nino” D’Anna.

Nino is connected both directly and indirectly with the one-time candidate for Nevada Attorney General, Sigal Chattah. (By the way, Chattah was defeated by then-incumbent and now current Nevada AG Aaron Ford in the 2022 election, who she texted, “… should be hanging from a f—ing crane.”)

Nino is a convicted felon — a “known and documented organized crime figure”  — and served time behind bars on drug charges. He also was charged with domestic battery and strangulation of his girlfriend at the time. Yeah, he’s a real “peach” of a guy. And Chattah knows all this about Tony.

Sigal Chattah is friends with a Las Vegas businesswoman named Vickie Dehart — the two are close enough that one night Chattah introduced Vickie and Tony to each other while they all were having dinner at Piero’s Italian Cuisine restaurant just off the strip next to the Las Vegas Convention Center — according to an eyewitness account by a person to  whom I have spoken.

I also have personally been with Sigal Chattah, Anthony D’Anna, and Judge Melanie Tobiasson at Piero’s Italian Cuisine restaurant. Judge Tobiasson’s drunken behavior was so outlandish one night, it was beyond belief. She was waving a loaded gun around at the table.

Tony ingratiated himself to Vickie, and soon enough the two became “an item.”

At the time Tony and Vickie met, I was told by Tony that Vickie was married to her husband, Paul Dehart. Tony and Vickie have been an item for several years, but according to records in Clark County, Nevada, there have been no separation or divorce records filed between Paul and Vickie that I could locate.  Paul Dehart is part of the founding group of EHB Companies, which includes Vickie and a man named Yohan Lowie. That complicates things among the three of them, as EHB Companies recently settled a case surrounding a development called The Badlands, against the City of Las Vegas for several hundred million dollars.

Shortly after they met in late 2019 or early 2020, Tony called me and asked about buying a Rolls Royce. He wanted to know who I knew at Towbin Motorcars. I directed him to a guy named Dave, who at the time was the General Manager. He was able to get Vickie to buy a brand new Rolls Royce Ghost.

Prior to the November 2022 election night watch party at T-Bones Chophouse at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa — which D’Anna, Vickie, and Sigal Chattah all attended — D’Anna had boasted to me that if Chattah got elected as Nevada’s new Attorney General, that he would have the “juice” to get things done with her in that position of power.

You can read more about that here: The Juice.

It looks like it’s good to be a friend and/or colleague of Sigal Chattah

OPINION: BY SA BARKET

It’s starting to look more and more like it’s a good thing to call interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada Sigal Chattah a friend or colleague (you know, like Anthony “Tony / Nino” D’Anna, for example).

Any conflict of interest on this one, Sigal? Your legal buddy, Michele Fiore, who you accompanied to her arraignment back in September, avoided a potential 140-year sentence after her conviction on six counts of federal wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud thanks to a pardon from President Donald Trump. It came just a few days after her conviction. Before the public even had any time to digest the news. Before any outrage about the conviction burst forth from … wherever. (I don’t think anyone was really anticipating that.) We’ll be getting into more of the details surrounding this case in future write ups.

That’s a conviction on seven counts, each with a maximum sentence of 20 years. I’ll do the math: 7 counts X 20 years each = 140 years. Potentially. If Michele got the maximum and the sentences didn’t run concurrently.

No wonder Michele is thanking God she got pardoned. I would be, too.

Here’s the headline in the NY Post (see above), which sums it up perfectly:

“Trump pardons Nevada politician who used $70K from slain cop’s memorial funds to pay for plastic surgery, daughter’s wedding”

Michele Fiore was convicted of using money raised for a memorial for a cop who was killed in the line of duty for … plastic surgery and her daughter’s wedding?

Doesn’t this get you angry, Sigal, as the “top cop” in the state of Nevada — the interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada — watching someone like suspended and convicted Justice of the Peace Michele Fiore found guilty by a jury on all counts walk free before sentencing?

Or is it a sense of relief and joy because the two of you are legal running buddies here in Las Vegas and work (or at least had worked) in leadership roles in the Nevada state Republican Party?

I saw the photograph in the Las Vegas Review Journal (linked here: Sept. 9, 2024) of you and Michele leaving the Lloyd D. George United States Courthouse back on Sept. 9, 2024 — the date of Michele’s arraignment preceding her trial.

I would think you would have very conflicted emotions about her pardon. On the one hand, as a colleague feeling relief for her pardoning, juxtaposed against your role as Nevada’s interim US attorney wanting to see justice done.

Or did you perhaps have something to do with the pardon in any way? Just asking a question. Many other top law enforcement and government officials in Las Vegas and Nevada I’ve spoken with used the word “disgusting” when it came to Fiore’s pardon.

As the current interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada, I’d think you’d similarly offer some expression of anger at someone convicted of the crimes Fiore was tried for getting off the hook. I’m waiting … still waiting.

Shortly after Michele Fiore’s conviction and just before sentencing for a potential 140 years in jail — like Charlie Brown running up to kick that football that Lucy is holding, you saw that conviction and sentencing snatched away by President Trump’s pardon of her, just days after her conviction and before she even was sentenced.

Where is the press release coming from your office on this one, Sigal? That would be an interesting one to write. How would you frame that? Would it go something like this:

“Michele Fiore, pursued by federal prosecutors for misappropriating funds being raised for a police memorial and and instead using them for her own personal expenses and convicted on all seven counts against her, just before sentencing received a pardon from President Donald Trump.”

How’s that working for you? Oh, right. I forgot. You have different tiers of justice for people who you are closely associated with, like Tony “Nino“ D’Anna. This is all starting to make sense now.

I don’t doubt there’s much more to these Michele Fiore shenanigans than meets the eye. I will be doing some digging to see what I can find out this — you know, the Who, What, When, Where, Why & How of it. (At this point, I don’t think there’s a 6th W — Wiretap — involved.)

I’m beginning to wonder about my Republican Party. About you, I have no doubts, though, Sigal. You are unfit to continue in the role of US Attorney for the District of Nevada, in my opinion. Are you really ready for the verbal onslaught and beat-down you likely will receive at the hands of the Senate Judiciary Committee should you get to that confirmation hearing?

You wrote in an X post not too long ago when you congratulated Kash Patel for his appointment as FBI Director, “What a time to be alive.” Yes, indeed. I will revel in this time as I watch your interim appointment crash and burn. Just taking a page from your X protocol.

Stand by for further developments.

The story behind Michele Fiore’s conviction of her shakedown of the public’s trust

(Michele Fiore trial: Day 2 transcripts, Page 1)

(Link to Day 2 Transcript, PAGE 1 / PAGE 2)

OPINION: BY SA BARKET

The following transcript is from the court proceedings on Day 2 of the trial of defendant Michele Fiore, who at the time was a suspended Justice of The Peace.

The Mr. Gottfried referenced below is Alexander Byrne Gottfried, U.S. Department of Justice, lead attorney for the prosecution of defendant Michele Fiore.

From Day 2’s court transcripts, Sept. 25, 2024:

MR. GOTTFRIED: “Good morning. May it please the Court, Mr. Sanft.

“Members of the jury, on June 8th, 2014, Officer Alyn Beck and his partner, Igor Soldo, were taking their lunch break at a pizza restaurant in Northeast Las Vegas. Both men
were patrol officers with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department. On that day, without provocation, the two officers were ambushed and shot dead as they sat there eating
their lunch. The two officers went to work every day to protect the citizens of the Las Vegas Valley, and they were murdered for no reason except the uniform that they proudly wore.

“In the aftermath of that tragedy, there were many members of the community that rightly sought to honor and remember those officers’ sacrifices. The desire to remember the fallen is a natural human impulse. The defendant’s decision to take advantage of that impulse is the reason that we’re all in court today. You see, members of the jury, the case that you’re about to hear is not about the heartless killers that took the lives of Officers Beck and Soldo. The case that you’re about to hear is about a public official, a city councilwoman, who took advantage of those officers’ memories for her personal gain.

“You’re going to hear that the defendant, Michele Fiore, started a fake charity and raised tens of thousands of dollars supposedly for the purpose of building a memorial to Officer Alyn Beck. But you’re going to hear over the course of this trial that that was a lie. And what’s more, the defendant knew that it was a lie.

“You’re going to hear that none of the money that she raised, not one cent, was spent for a memorial to Officer Beck. And during the course of this trial, we’re going to follow the money and show you how she spent it: On herself and on her family, paying her rent, her political fundraising bills, for plastic surgery, and for her daughter’s wedding.”

This is what Michele Fiore was convicted of. Gottfried proved his case, according to the seated jury, which convicted Michele Fiore on all seven counts.

And President Donald Trump pardoned Fiore.

I want you to know the details of this case, because you’re not getting the real story in any of the local media reporting on it, nor in any of the national media that even bothered to pay attention to the facts of this story.

And I want you to know the details of this story to honor those two fallen officers.

There is much more to come related to the revelations that came as a result of this trial.

I’m hearing that Anthony D’Anna (aka “Tony,” aka “Nino”) seems to think he has a get-out-of-jail-free card, so to speak, in the form of Sigal Chattah

OPINION: BY SA BARKET

I’ve heard recently that Anthony D’Anna (aka “Tony,” aka “Nino”) has been bragging that he’s untouchable because of his relationship with current interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada Sigal Chattah.

us attorney interim nevada sigal chattah get out of jail freeThis boasting by Tony about his being untouchable comes on the heels of the recent news of one of Sigal Chattah’s closest legal and political colleagues, Michele Fiore, being granted a full pardon by President Trump.

Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Makes you wonder about the connection between Michele Fiore (who’s actually been nicknamed, “Lady Trump”), Sigal Chattah and President Trump. Like, I wonder how Michele Fiore’s pardon happened so fast for a state-level Republican politician to have gotten a pardon just days after her conviction? And even before her sentencing? Could have been 140 years, or could have been a relative slap on the wrist. We’ll never know now.

Makes you wonder, did Sigal Chattah have a role in Fiore’s pardon. You don’t have to be smacked in the face with a 2×4 to come up with the possibility of that connection. How did Fiore get a pardon with such a convincing conviction with such blatant disregard for the law? The financial evidence and court documents brought forward by the prosecuting federal attorneys (hello, Sigal Chattah) speak for themselves.

And one last question: Are you sure about this one, President Trump, any second thoughts about this pardon?

Michele Fiore was previously a city councilwoman and was a Justice of the Peace before being suspended July 24, 2024 when she was charged with, subsequently tried for, and convicted of six counts of federal wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. These charges were in connection with Fiore using money raised to be used for a statue honoring a slain police officer on personal expenses, including plastic surgery and her daughter’s wedding.

Fiore and Chattah are closely connected, both through their legal profession as well as a sisterhood (my word, my opinion) through Nevada Republican politics as leaders for that party in the state.

Let me be clear, I am a “Superfan” with a capital “S” of President Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel. I am not, however any sort of fan of Chattah’s installment as interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada. I don’t understand her appointment, nor do I understand the pardon of Michele Fiore before she even was sentenced after her conviction on all seven counts.

Bad, bad choice, in my opinion, of Chattah to serve even as an interim appointment in that role. A choice made, I believe, because of a lack of all the information to be had related to Chattah (much of which can be found in the many posts and pages published on this website).

President Trump, AG Bondi, Director Patel; please take note.

Thank you.

A Question for Sigal Chattah: How are you feeling about that post on X you made about the Pope now that he has died?

sigal-chattah-us-attorney-nevada pope-comment

Click on the image above or here to go to Sigal Chattah’s X post on Pope Francis.

Dear Sigal Chattah,

Now that the Pope  has passed away, I would like to again bring up and discuss your X post on Feb. 17 in which you said, “I know more people praying for his expiration than for his recovery.” (Here’s a link to her Feb. 17, 2025 X post with her comment about the Pope: (https://x.com/Chattah4Nevada/status/1891560332184752239)

Probably the most profound thing you’ve said on that post, and which I think should apply to most of what you’ve done and said in the entirety of 2025 is: “I should probably sit this one out …”

I would completely agree — your appointment as interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada, your X posts, your promotion of things coming out of and happening in that office that you’ve had nothing to do with … everything.

But in true Chattah form, you didn’t take your own advice about sitting it out. So since you said you know many people that were hoping for the Pope’s demise, I’m just wondering if you could share with the rest of us there/your feelings now that the Pope died on Easter Monday, one day after Easter on Sunday. (BTW, he’s also the first Pope  from South America.)

Not that your opinion is worth any more value as an appointed interim US Attorney …

As I agree with a recent article that stated you were grossly unfit for the job (which also was the opinion of the Nevada Democratic Party (“Sigal Chattah is grossly unfit to serve as Nevada’s US Attorney — read here: NV Dems). I couldn’t agree more.

There’s a picture I’d like to refer to that was in the Las Vegas Review Journal (Sept. 9, 2024 LVRJ — scroll past the video thumbnail photo to other images) as you were walking out the Las Vegas downtown federal building with convicted felon Michele Fiori that makes my point. Fiore was found guilty in October 2024 of federal wire fraud and conspiracy charges. Her request for a new trial was recently dismissed. Fiore is a committeewoman for the Nevada Republican Party and was a justice of the peace for Pahrump in Nye County, Nevada. In 2024, she was convicted of seven counts of federal felony fraud for stealing $70,000 that was purportedly being raised to go towards a memorial to fallen police officers, which never materialized.

Remember, you weren’t confirmed to your current position, it’s an interim appointment only, and I’m predicting if your selection to be US Attorney for the District of Nevada moves forward to the US Senate Judiciary Committee, that process will certainly be ugly.

The clock’s ticking on that …

Sincerely,
SA Barket

Above is what I found related to contributions from Vickie Dehart and her various entities to Sigal Chattah’s attempt at being elected in 2022 to be the Nevada Attorney General. She lost to incumbent Aaron Ford, who she said in a Tweet,
“… should be hanging from a f—ing crane.”

You might note the misspelling of Dehart’s last name in the above example as “Debhart.” I don’t know if that was intentional or if it was an honest misspelling. Most people know how to spell their last names.

Dehart and her businesses and associates contributed heavily across the board to a multitude of political candidates for office.

Sigal Chattah — In or Out as the National Chairwoman for the Nevada GOP?

sigal chattah us attorney nevada gop national chairwoman

Sigal Chattah still listed as Nevada GOP National Chairwoman – Screenshot taken @ 2:42 PM, Wednesday, April 17, 2025, fully one week after she had told a radio host she had stepped away from that role.

BY SA BARKET

Sigal Chattah, as previously noted, has been the National Chairwoman for the Nevada GOP. It’s a political position that, according to our understanding of the Hatch Act, she should not have, because it conflicts with her current appointment as the interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada, which is supposed to be a federal non-partisan, neutral role.

As previously reported (Sigal Chattah’s Motivation) Sigal Chattah has remained as Nevada’s Republican National Committeewoman after being sworn in as the US Attorney for the District of Nevada, in possible violation of the Hatch Act.

However, Chattah appeared on conservative radio talk show host Kevin Wall’s broadcast on April 10 (KMZQ 670AM, Kevin Wall Radio 4/10/2025)— 7 days ago — and said that she basically “walked away” from her “whole former life” to accept the interim appointment as US Attorney for the District of Nevada. She said that included her private law practice and her role as National Chairwoman for the Nevada GOP.

Well, Sigal, how do you explain the fact that you still are listed among the Nevada GOP leadership on the website (https://nevadagop.org/leadership/)? How do we know that you have “walked away” from the leadership role you have in the Nevada GOP?

The screenshot you see above was taken at 2:40 PM on April 17, 2025, fully one week after you said you had stepped away from your role there, yet there you are, still listed prominently among the GOP leadership.

What gives? You, legally, really can’t have it both ways. And you, as Nevada’s top law enforcement official, should know that better than anyone. You know what the Hatch Act is, and you know how seriously it is taken. Hedging your bets? One foot in each organization, just in case? Just in case the right people pay attention to what’s been detailed on this website and decide that you’re too much of a partisan hot potato?

You’re not fooling anyone, Sigal, especially the upper echelon politicos in your own party. And you know that. I guess you’re just choosing to ignore it? What’s really going on, Sigal? Is it your dismissive, arrogant personality rising to the surface? Inquiring minds want to know.

Sigal Chattah, interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada and the dinner celebration that never was

sigal-chattah-interim-us-attorney-niccos-dinner-at-durangoOPINION: By SA Barket

Sigal Chattah was named interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada and officially was sworn in to that interim appointment on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 — April Fools Day.

Call me fooled.

I received information about a dinner that was to be held just about a week after her interim appointment, on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Nicco’s Prime Cuts & Fresh Fish, a steakhouse in the Durango Casino and Resort. (See invitation above.)

The event was billed as a “Dinner Celebration Honoring SIGAL CHATTAH, Interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada.” And as “an evening of great company, fine dining, and well-deserved recognition.”

Well, as the Church Lady on Saturday Night Live was fond of saying, “Isn’t that special.”

Call me fooled because the event never took place. I heard it was called off for a couple reasons:

  1. because the organizing group had gotten tepid responses for the $200 per plate dinner — seems as though there were not very many takers; and
  2. because of the appearance of this event being an ill-conceived fund-raising event

Oops.

Even though the invite stated on the very bottom line: “This is not a fundraiser for Sigal Chattah or her office.” OK. If you say so.

I’m calling out this as a double tone-deaf Sigal Chattah entanglement. The two reasons?

  1. The interim appointment of Sigal Chattah to be US Attorney for the District of Nevada will go down in the annals of political tone-deafness as perhaps the worst call so far by the Trump administration’s DOJ (yes, we’re looking at you Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel); and
  2. How could you actually believe that anyone would think this was anything other than a fund-raising event, regardless of however it was labeled? I’m not sure whether it’s legal or illegal to do that, but it certainly is tasteless and crass at the very least.

(Yay! Hey, let’s have a $200 a plate dinner for someone who’s only an interim appointment to a federal office, and if they make it to a confirmation hearing will face withering opposition likely from both Democrats and Republicans. Just look around this website.)

But then, that’s Sigal Chattah for you — tasteless and crass (in my opinion).

The organizer of this non-event dinner was the Israeli-American Civic Action Network (ICAN) under the umbrella group known as IsraelUSA. (As a side note, I must say that I fully support this organization, being a Lebanese-Jew myself.)

Sigal Chattah was born in Israel and left there as a young teenager to come with her family to America. She’s been a pretty staunch advocate for Israel for her entire career. ICAN has supported Chattah’s interim appointment, even though she sent out a text that her Democratic opponent in her failed 2022 bid to become the next Nevada Attorney General should be, in her estimation, “… hanging from a f – – – ing crane.” Her opponent, the Democratic AG Aaron Ford, is a black man.

Again, my opinion: See what I mean about tasteless and crass?

From the “You just can’t make this up” files: More hateful, racist posts unearthed from Sigal Chattah’s X profile

sigal-chattah-us-attorney-rawstory-on-sigal-chattah

Screen shot from: RawStory.com

I missed this one from months ago — a Sigal Chattah X post in which she calls then-Congressman Jamaal Bowman (D-Yonkers, NY) a “ghetto rat” and in a follow up post, a “hood rat.” (See: https://x.com/Chattah4Nevada/status/1805620413466394973)

Sigal, you win the award for the most distasteful, racist woman to have been installed as an interim US Attorney — unfortunately in my home state of Nevada.

Ok, granted, It’s Jamaal Bowman, not the most gentlemanly sort on Capitol Hill, and who  lost a re-election bid because of some of the ridiculous things he ranted about — but even X slapped a “Visibility limited: this Post may violate X’s rules against Hateful Conduct” label on this post of yours, Sigal.

We found this on RawStory.com (see image above). Read what they wrote up here: “Top Nevada Republican calls Black Democrat a ‘hood rat’ in ‘hateful’ social rant.” (RawStory writeup here: https://www.rawstory.com/sigal-chattah-rnc/)

You have no filter, do you? You think you can blurt out whatever thought enters your head without consequence, don’t you? We’ll see about that. We’ll see how far you get in your confirmation hearings before the US Senate Judiciary Committee.

Good luck with all that. In the meantime, we’ll just keep piling up fodder for them to use at the hearing.

Sigal Chattah to Face the US Senate Judiciary Committee for Confirmation

sigal-chattah-interim-us-attorney-nevada-US-SENATE-JUDICIARY-COMMITTEE

US Senate Judiciary Committee (click on image to see larger)

Are you ready, Sigal Chattah?

Are you ready to face the withering questions and examination that you’ll get from these members who make up the US Senate Judiciary Committee — questions that will likely come from both the Majority Members (Republicans) as well as the Minority Members (Democrats)?

Are you ready to face them and answer to the questionable judgment and relationships we’ve documented here? (And by the way, there’s more to come.)

You will not be shepherded through this process by your Nevada Senators, who both have attacked your interim appointment as the US Attorney for the District of Nevada.

Here’s what Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen (D) said about your interim appointment:

“Nevada needs a U.S. Attorney who will uphold and enforce the law fairly and equally. Sigal Chattah is an extremist who is deeply unfit for this role,” said Senator Rosen. “Chattah’s disturbing past statements promising to use any public office to go after her political opponents, as well as her well-documented history of racist remarks, conspiracy theories, and threats of violence, prove that she cannot be trusted with this important responsibility. If she’s ever nominated to a permanent Senate-confirmed position, I’ll do everything in my power to block her confirmation.”

Here’s what Nevada Senator Catharine Cortez Masto (D) said about your interim appointment:

“Sigal Chattah said our Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford should be hanged from a crane. She is an election denier who has advocated for political violence, suggested she would target her political enemies, and offered full support to many of President Trump’s blatantly illegal actions in office. U.S. Attorneys should be professionals who stand against corruption, serve as agents for justice, and understand that no one is above the law.
“President Trump is abusing his power and bypassing Congress to insert a partisan political operative into this position because he knows Nevada’s Senators will not support her. U.S. Attorneys work for the American people, and it has been a tradition for every new administration – including during President Trump’s first term – to work with Nevada Senators to nominate and appoint a qualified candidate. By law, this appointment can only last 120 days. To all the dedicated public servants working in the District of Nevada, I will continue to support you and will fight to make sure we confirm a U.S. Attorney with integrity and a commitment to the rule of law.”

Ouch.

So it’s a big strikeout on sponsorship from Senators from your home state. Maybe you’ll say that’s to be expected. They’re both lefty Democrats. It’s partisan.

However, I hear that even those on the right — especially the Senator who you might expect to be your sponsor as you begin this confirmation process, Mike Lee (R) from Utah, is distancing himself from you. Senator Lee also happens to be among the Majority Members on the Senate panel.

It’s my opinion that anyone reading this blog would have cause for concern about your permanent appointment to that position. The search for a more appropriate person to become the new US Attorney for the District of Nevada is very likely underway. I can think of at least a half dozen more qualified people to be placed in that position full time.

I imagine this upcoming confirmation process for you might feel something like being trapped in a big vise, unable to escape and feeling the clamps getting tighter and tighter and tighter as you’re unable to squirm away.

Yes, you have an ally in FBI Director Kash Patel — for now. But how long will that last given the documentation we’ve produced here about how unfit you are to assume this office as the Trump Administration permanent appointment to the office of US Attorney for the District of Nevada?

Enjoy your interim appointment, Sigal. That’s likely all this ever will amount to; perhaps a notch on your resume or a line item on your Linkedin profile.

What is Sigal Chattah’s motivation for apparently remaining as Nevada’s Republican National Committeewoman while being sworn in as the US Attorney for the District of Nevada, in possible violation of the Hatch Act?

I can’t tell if it’s incompetence, negligence, or dismissiveness, but Sigal Chattah made a bad move over this past weekend.

Hats off to the Nevada Independent for their reporting on this; they scored a coup. The Nevada Indy’s headline: Sigal Chattah blurs conflict of interest lines by continuing political activity as new U.S. attorney

In a seemingly direct violation of the Hatch Act, which prohibits civil-service employees in the executive branch of the federal government (such as an interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada like Sigal Chattah), except the President and Vice President, from engaging in some forms of political activity, Sigal Chattah reportedly has continued to carry on in her position as Nevada’s Republican National Committeewoman.

According to the Nevada Independent’s reporting, Sigal Chattah was “introduced virtually at a state party meeting Saturday, potentially violating Department of Justice rules against its employees participating in political activities.”

The US Office of Special Counsel offers this overview of the Hatch Act: it is a federal law that,

“limits certain political activities of federal employees … to ensure that federal programs are administered in a nonpartisan fashion, to protect federal employees from political coercion in the workplace, and to ensure that federal employees are advanced based on merit and not based on political affiliation.”

How serious is a Hatch Act violation (which has been in place since 1939)? To quote from the US Office of Special Counsel guidelines: “An employee who violates the Hatch Act is subject to a range of disciplinary actions, including:

  • Removal from Federal Service: termination of employment
  • Debarment from Federal Employment: ineligibility for future federal jobs for a period of up to 5 years
  • Suspension: temporary removal from duty without pay.Reprimand: A formal warning or censure
  • Reduction in Grade: lowering an employee’s position and salary
  • Civil Penalty: a fine, not to exceed $1,000

Pretty serious consequences.

Sigal Chattah Sworn in as Interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada

Interesting that on her X post about her swearing in to be the interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada, that she makes a comment like this (see image below):

Chattah writes, “The law is the only thing that makes all people equal.”

Really? Including your friends? Like Anthony D’Anna? Like the victim of his domestic battery and strangulation? Or Carol Jimmerson’s yet unsolved robbery? Or the late Judge Melanie Tobiasson?

I question how even-handed and “equal” all will be under your hopefully very, very short tenure as interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada.

Lawsuit Brought by Me — SA Barket

By SA Barket

As a result of my interactions with Tony “Nino” D’Anna, and as a result of his relationship with Vickie Dehart and other of her previous EHB Companies employees, I have suffered an adverse effect to myself personally and professionally, which has cost me a great deal of time, money, relationships, and a very lucrative contract.

Also, as a result of Tony’s behavior and threats, which I believe can be carried out judging from his past criminal records (also see bulleted list below) and his prior access to previous EHB Company employees, he has revealed to me in more than one conversation that he had access to personal and confidential information that never should have been allowed to be transferred or communicated to him.

Also, Tony’s relationship with Shafik Hirji, who lives in my neighborhood, carries a lot of weight, especially when he was screaming at me and making sure I knew he had essentially 24/7 access to me, my family and my home. His veiled threat, as I perceived it to me, was that he could access my community and get to my house anytime he wanted.

As a result of D’Anna’s actions in communicating third-party information, I had no choice but to file a lawsuit. Details will be forthcoming.

AN OPEN LETTER TO US ATTORNEY GENERAL PAM BONDI

Dear Attorney General Bondi,

My name is Steven Barket. I’m writing to you about a recent pick for the office of US Attorney for the District of Nevada, Sigal Chattah.

As I believe you will find from all the information I’ve brought forth on this website, SigalChattahExamined.com, she is unfit for that judiciary appointment.

Please consider reading this in its entirety; I am available anytime, anywhere, anyplace to discuss it.

I fully support President Trump, (I voted for him), and I fully support you in your role as US Attorney General, as well as FBI Director Kash Patel.

I truly believe that the changes this administration has been making at record pace and with great results will benefit generations to come, and I could not be more proud to be an American (a proud American Lebanese Jew).

I look forward to your feedback and a conversation about everything I’ve laid out here.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Steven Barket

Sigal Chattah’s re-post of FBI Director Kash Patel’s post on X.

By SA Barket

I realize by launching this website, I have immediately placed a target on my back.

sigal chattah us attorney interim nevada targetBut this is the era of truth telling, right?

This is the era where censorship and shutdowns are not supposed to happen just because you’re telling the truth.

That’s all I’m doing here. I’m just shining a light into the darkest corners of Sigal Chattah’s life so that everyone can see her for who she really is.

I proudly voted for Donald J. Trump as President in 2024. In the 2022 midterms, I voted for a remarkable man, who is now Nevada’s Governor, Joe Lombardo. I also voted for Democrat Aaron Ford. I grew up with a very strong mother and father, who were Lebanese and Jewish. As my mother, until she passed away more than 24 years ago, always told me, it’s not about Republican or Democrat, it’s about voting for the best person for the job.

It was announced (by the Nevada Republican party, not the White House, which is interesting in and of itself) that Sigal Chattah is the Trump Administration pick to be, for now, the interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada.

This, in my opinion, cannot stand.

I urge you to read this website thoroughly. It won’t take that much time. But you’ll have a much better idea of Sigal Chattah’s lack of morals, ethics, integrity, discernment, judgment and character.

FBI Director Kash Patel, take note: We all have friends & colleagues, but we can’t know everything about them. According to Sigal Chattah, you two are fast friends. But you don’t know everything about her, Mr. Patel, at least not some of the connections I’ve raised here, on this website. That’s OK. That’s not your fault. There’s a reason there is an interim stage for appointments such as this. Appropriately so.

Nevada Sen. Jacky Rosen (D) is not so Hot on Sigal Chattah; Neither is Sen. Catherine Cortez-Masto (D) …

I guess that Sigal Chattah (a prolific X poster) won’t be re-“Tweeting” this post by Nevada Sen. Jacky Rosen (D) anytime soon …

And I guess Sigal Chattah is not too happy about what Nevada Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto had to say about it, either: Cortez Masto Statement on the Appointment of Sigal Chattah as Interim U.S. Attorney for Nevada

According to the Nevada Republican Party, Sigal Chattah has been announced as being the interim US Attorney for Nevada.

We agree with the Democrats on this one, who said:

“Sigal Chattah is grossly unfit to serve as Nevada’s US Attorney. While running for Attorney General, Chattah said she would use public office to go after her political opponents and after losing the election sued to make voting harder. This is the same person who said that Nevada’s first Black Attorney General should be ‘hanging from a f-ing crane’. That, her significant ties to January 6th rioters, and much more disqualify her from being anywhere near the United States Justice Department.”

Why You Should Care About Sigal Chattah’s Nomination to be Interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada

Opinion, By SA Barket

Sigal Chattah was nominated to be the interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada on Friday, March 28, 2025. According to news reports, she is to begin her interim term on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Her nomination came late in the afternoon on a Friday, Eastern Daylight Savings Time.

The timing of this announcement is notable. That’s when news that gets pushed out to major media outlets gets buried, overlooked. It’s well known in the PR industry, that if you have bad news to release, make sure it goes out late on a Friday afternoon. Usually, those making the announcement don’t want too much attention on the news. And in this case, there’s a reason for it, and there’s reason for concern. This announcement is bad news for Nevada.

This also is the kind of story that seems to make people’s eyes glaze over.

Sigal Chattah? US Attorney? District of Nevada? Who cares?

You should.

Why?

Because the job of a US Attorney for the District of Nevada (there are 93 other such appointments across the country) is to to prosecute federal cases and defend the US in civil litigation. These appointments carry great power, and the nominees must be people of integrity, sharp decision-making, clear judgment, and of high ethical and moral character. Sigal Chattah is not any of those things, in my opinion. And this website points out the many reasons she should not be installed in this position.

Her integrity is highly questionable. Her character is highly questionable. Her judgment is highly questionable. Her relationships are highly suspect. Her decision making is questionable. She can be blinded by her own sense of self-righteousness. She just wants to win, facts be damned. Her connection with the criminal element goes far beyond the mere capacity of doing her job. With her, it’s personal.

The power a US Attorney has is immense within the judicial system. Each US attorney is the chief federal law enforcement officer in their specific jurisdiction and can supervise dozens of Assistant US Attorneys.

These US attorneys are nominated by the president — in this case, President Donald Trump — in districts across the country. The District of Nevada encompasses the whole state. The offices of the US attorney’s are part of the Department of Justice (DOJ) currently headed by Pam Bondi. They serve at the pleasure of the president and serve four year terms.

They often are referred to as federal prosecutors. They have the authority to investigate people, file formal criminal charges, issue subpoenas, engage in plea bargaining discussions, grant immunity to witnesses and — in some cases — to accused criminals.

With that kind of power over citizens in their jurisdictions, character and integrity of the individual charged with the awesome responsibility of the office must be unimpeachable. When it comes to Sigal Chattah, that’s not the case, in my opinion.

Just read through the many facts and questions we’ve brought to light here on this website. Read through the posts. Think about the person who was just nominated to be an interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada and see if you come to the same conclusions that I have — that Sigal Chattah is not the person for this job.

There seems to be no such thing as nuance with her.

Sigal Chattah has worked her way up the hierarchy of the Nevada state GOP chain of command, and she thinks her you-know-what doesn’t stink. And the people around her in the higher levels of the Nevada GOP don’t want to mess with her. They don’t want to get in her way for fear of being run over. She’s like that — like a bowling ball rolling down Las Vegas Boulevard, with no sense of the reality around her. She’s rolling, she has her path ahead of her, and nothing will stop her.

Or so she thinks.

“Grossly unfit,” is how Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno put it. We can’t argue with that.

Sigal Chattah — Republican Mover & Shaker? Maybe Not

OPINION — By SA Barket

Sigal Chattah, in my opinion, is a poser.

She wants you to think she’s a big mover & shaker on the Republican scene. She goes to all the important gatherings — like the 2022 Republican election watch party at T-Bones Chophouse in Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa when she was a candidate for Nevada Attorney General (which she lost), and when Joe Lombardo was candidate for Governor (which he won). Chattah posts photos of herself with bigwig state and national figures to make you think she’s a key insider, like the photo you see above of her and new FBI Director Kash Patel, which she posted to X. (We blocked out personal comments on the right for privacy’s sake.)

Now, however, comes the news that Sigal Chattah has been nominated to be the US Attorney for the State of Nevada. The Nevada State Republican Party made the announcement on Friday, March 28, 2025. The Trump Administration at this writing has not made any announcement.

Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno released the following statement on the appointment of Sigal Chattah as Nevada’s interim United States Attorney:

“Sigal Chattah is grossly unfit to serve as Nevada’s US Attorney. While running for Attorney General, Chattah said she would use public office to go after her political opponents and after losing the election sued to make voting harder. This is the same person who said that Nevada’s first Black Attorney General should be ‘hanging from a f-ing crane’. That, her significant ties to January 6th rioters, and much more disqualify her from being anywhere near the United States Justice Department.”

Sigal Chattah also is currently Nevada’s Republican National Committee Chairwoman. Good for her. We checked with some Nevada RNC folks we know, and they had one word for Chattah: “Weird.” (Don’t mean to steal your word, Tim Walz, which you made popular in your failed campaign to become the next Vice President in the 2024 election while referring to current VP J.D. Vance — but that was the exact word used to describe Chattah.)

Sigal Who? Chattah, You Say? Of Nevada? Never Heard of Her

By SA Barket

I’ve poked around a little bit, and the folks I checked with who might have some sense of Sigal Chattah’s status for the position of US Attorney for the District of Nevada have never hear of you before. Seems odd, especially coming from the sources I’ve spoken with. Maybe I’m not checking with the right folks.

sigal-chattah-us-attorney-nevada-interim-not-registered-with-national-republican-lawyers-associationAlthough I found out about a group that I was certain Chattah would be a part of — the National Republican Lawyers Association (NRLA). (See image above). Nope, not there. We searched for your name and came up with zilch. Just to be sure, we searched for other Republican-oriented attorneys who we knew were a part of the NRLA, and their names came right up.

Just seems odd that you wouldn’t be part of this relatively important group — especially important with regard to your career advancement — and a potential shot at the very powerful position of US Attorney for the District of Nevada.

Maybe your application for admission into that influential group is still pending.

Sigal Chattah, One-Time Candidate for Nevada Attorney General on Current AG Aaron Ford: “… [he] should be hanging from a f-ing crane.”

sigal-chattah-interim-us-attorney-nevada-says-aaron-ford-should-be-hanging-from-a-fucking-crane

Interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada, Sigal Chattah, once texted about her 2022 Nevada Attorney General opponent that [Aaron Ford] “… should be hanging from a f—ing crane.”

By SA Barket

Sigal Chattah, a Nevada Republican, made a name for herself suing the state over COVID restrictions and campaigned on forming a coalition of state Attorneys General to “sue Biden into submission” over taxes, inflation, and critical race theory. In her bid to become Nevada’s next Attorney General in the 2022 election, a Las Vegas political blogger leaked controversial texts from Chattah, wherein the candidate compared the man she was trying to defeat, incumbent Nevada AG Aaron Ford, to the leaders of Hamas and said, “This guy should be hanging from a [f-ing] crane.”

There’s more. Just go ahead and read those texts you see in that image above. (If you’re having a hard time making them out, just click on the image, and you’ll see a larger image rendering.)  Decide for yourself if Chattah should be representing anybody, anywhere, including in court.

Sigal Chattah’s 2022 AG Candidacy and Tony “Nino” D’Anna Being Able to Get the “Juice”

sigal-chattah-interim us attorney nevada tony-danna-vickie-dehart-at-tbones-red-rock

Interesting cast of characters: Sigal Chattah (bottom left) with Vickie Dehart (top left) and Tony D’Anna (top right) gathered at the same table at T-Bones Chophouse on the evening of Nov. 8, 2022 for a Republican Watch Party to watch the day’s election returns.

By SA Barket

On the evening of November 8, 2022, at an election night watch party at T-Bones Chophouse at Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa that Anthony “Nino” D’Anna, Vickie Dehart, and Sigal Chattah all attended. In previous statements, D’Anna was boasting that if Chattah got elected as Nevada’s new Attorney General, that D’Anna would have the “juice” to get things done with her in that position of power.

Sigal Chattah was on the ballot as the Republican candidate running against then-incumbent and now current Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford. Also on the ballot that year was then-LVMPD Sheriff Joe Lombardo as the Republican candidate running against incumbent Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak. Lombardo won his election; Chattah lost.

Apparently, even though Chattah lost that election to Ford, that “juice” boast still seemed to play out.

Consider, for example, that D’Anna and a man named Shafik Hirji — who claims to own, or is in charge of, a chain of automotive shops in the Las Vegas area called Purrfect Auto Service (PAS) and a sister auto company named USA Auto Service, as well as a furniture store in the Boulevard Mall called Furniture Fashions — have a business relationship as well as a friendship. (Hirji lives in a home owned by his son, Rahim Hirji, in the same 24/7 guard-monitored, gated community as I do.) According to Zillow, the house has an estimated market value of more than $3 million.

Previously, Hirji had been charged by the State of Nevada for the following (quoting directly from language in the findings in the September 2011 case, which can be read in full here – NV Case No. A531745):

  • “The scheme perpetuated at all of the PAS locations controlled by Hirji consists of selling unnecessary repairs and charging for parts that were never installed.” and “… in most if not all cases, customers pay for what are commonly called ‘phantom services’ where, although paid for by the customer, services are not done and parts are not replaced.”

To prove this, the State of Nevada set up undercover stings.

  • The State, represented by current Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, who at the time was AG for Nevada, certified the findings of fact; PAS was fined some $300,000 in 2011, without being adjusted for interest over the years, and Hirji was “permanently enjoined against continuing to engage or participate in the automotive repair business in the State of Nevada …”
    • Additionally, Hirji reneged on a payment plan he agreed to with the Las Vegas Review Journal for neglecting to pay his bill with them for advertising charges in the amount of $435,292.33.

D’Anna told me that Chattah said that she had a way of getting his buddy Hirji’s $218,000 judgment, plus $75,000 in attorney’s fees, quashed so it wouldn’t get renewed; allegedly, low and behold, that’s exactly what happened. (See 2017 Renewal of Judgment here: Affidavit for Renewal of Judgment). That judgment was never renewed, Hirji never paid anything, and now Shafik is neck deep back in his auto businesses. At the time of this post, we have not been able to find any proof that this judgment was paid.

Also, Hirji was convicted in federal court for bankruptcy fraud. (See document here: Hirji bankruptcy fraud case.) He also is a convicted felon.

Just laying out the facts and the connections for as many people as possible to see, beyond just me.

Sigal Chattah & Her Comment on the Pope’s Health Condition

By SA Barket

Interesting that Sigal Chattah feels the need to point out these sentiments about the leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, who is undergoing a significant health crisis — that she knows “more people praying for his expiration than his recovery.” Who, exactly, are you hanging around with, Sigal?

What do you think about her comment pointing out that she knows “more people praying for his expiration than for his recovery”? I believe you should have “[sat] this one out.”

Do you find that to be appropriate social commentary for someone such as herself — a woman who has climbed the heights of the legal profession in the State of Nevada, has run for high office (Nevada Attorney General in 2022), is a figurehead in the Nevada State GOP, is a mover and shaker with key alliances with Governor Joe Lombardo, FBI Director Kash Patel and who is a very vocal advocate for the Israeli people? (She was born in Israel and came to America as a teenager.)

Sigal Chattah’s YouTube Videos Stand Out — And Not in a Good Way

By SA Barket

If you search for Sigal Chattah on YouTube, she pops up in a ton of YouTube videos.

Some of them are quite interesting, such as the first one that comes up when you search for her name — an interview with Las Vegas TV station, News Channel 8 when she was the Republican candidate for Nevada State Attorney General in 2022 (above): Attorney General candidate Sigal Chattah talks text messages, criminal law.

She gets all twisted around when interviewer Brian Loftus asks her to explain her comment that had become public in which she said her Democratic opponent, Aaron Ford, “… should be hanging from a f—ing crane.” (See my post on.that here: Aaron Ford: hanging from a f—ing crane.)

She tries to explain her way out of it, by saying she was comparing him to a leader of Hamas (sorry, but you already lost me there) because he was a corrupt AG.

Loftus asks her about her use of the word “Trannies” in a tweet and notes that the transgender community considers that a slur. Chattah responds:

“Would you consider Granny less offensive than Grandmother? The word Tranny is used in Hollywood, it’s part of the American culture. This isn’t a word that is taboo. It’s still being used. If the use of that word is offensive to a group, absolutely, I would apologize to that group. But at the same time, I think that in the grand scheme of things, the change needs to come from on a much bigger scale. So let’s ban Hollywood from using the word Tranny, let’s ban American literature from using the word Tranny. Just like any other word that has come in and out of circulation — we don’t call Native Americans Indians, and I don’t think you see that word being used anymore because it’s so offensive. But yet the word Tranny is still used a lot.”

Ok, Sigal. Only from the mind of Chattah.

A quick internet search of the word, “Tranny” shows that it is considered an offensive term. Dictionary.com defines it this way:

a contemptuous term used to refer to a transgender person, especially a transgender woman, or a crossdresser.”

Just sayin’ … or maybe we shouldn’t.

Girlfriend Vickie Dehart, and Sigal Chattah: Movers & Shakers in Tony “Nino” Danna’s World?

sigal chattah interim us attorney nevada and vickie-dehart-and-las-vegas-2By SA Barket

Who are the movers & shakers in Tony “Nino” D’Anna’s world?

You might want to look at his girlfriend, Vickie Dehart, as well as Republican political operative Sigal Chattah, who as of today, April 1, 2025, has been named as the interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada.

Vickie Dehart has made significant political contributions to a multitude of candidates for various offices across the political spectrum — both Republicans and Democrats at all levels of office. Tens of thousands of dollars over the years. She colors both Red and Blue.

From what I’ve been able to find, Vickie Dehart has contributed large sums of money in political contributions. I have all the records. Or, it’s no secret. Just go to OpenSecrets.org and search for donors who have relationships with Vickie. That’s the fog of her connections — one degree or less of separation.

Is it maybe Nino’s relationship with Sigal Chattah? Chattah made a run at Nevada’s office of Attorney General in 2022. She’s also currently the Nevada State Republican Party National Committeewoman. She’s a woman of high influence and who has all kinds of connections.

Chattah is friends with Vickie Dehart — close enough friends with both Tony and Vickie that she introduced the two one night while they all were at dinner at Piero’s Italian Cuisine restaurant,  just off the strip next to the Las Vegas Convention Center, according to an eyewitness account.

Tony was a man on a mission. Tony and Vickie really hit it off after that introduction.  He REALLY wanted to get to know Vickie. So much so that they are currently a hot item — or so we suppose, as boyfriend & girlfriend.

Thanks to Sigal Chattah.

According to Clark County property records, Vickie Dehart bought a $1.5 million home for Erlava D’Anna, Tony’s mother (see the documentation of this below), in addition to a Rolls Royce, a Ferrari SF-90, and a Ferrari 488 Pista, most recently. He’s been seen — as the arrogant man he is — parking in a handicap zone at Lifetime Fitness in Summerlin.

How has Tony D’Anna managed to slide by for so many years since being released from his incarceration on a federal drug charge? Tony D’Anna has on more than one occasion bragged about not filing tax returns and said he has never had a bank account in his name; he told me he used his mom’s bank account when he had to, but primarily dealt in cash.

By SA Barket

The classic 5Ws of any news story: who, what, when, where, why? (Plus the infamous Wiretap — the 6th W in this case.)

How does a wiretap play into this? Let me explain:

Tony D’Anna met me at Jeannie’s restaurant in Nordstrom’s at the Fashion Show Mall. While we were sitting there, his phone rang. It was Sigal Chattah. She explained to Tony that a high-ranking Nevada law enforcement officer had just informed her that he did not appreciate Sigal talking about him on a recording that he had of a wiretap.

To further the claim I laid out above, as a twist of fate, I had a personal conversation with that exact high-ranking Nevada law enforcement officer, and he did confirm the wiretap.

For now, this is all that I can disclose. Except to say that the wiretap is directly related to the 2021 robbery of Carol Jimmerson of Las Vegas. She’s a prominent businesswoman in her own right and is married to a very well-known and successful Las Vegas attorney.

The 5Ws that surround this very curious robbery are, upon my own information and belief and opinion, the following:

  • Who: I learned that allegedly at least two men were associated in executing the robbery plan: Eric Hobbie and a man named “Avery.” I believe there is at least one other person connected to this robbery. Eric and Avery were only the two who allegedly pulled off the robbery. There were others behind the planning of this robbery.
  • What: The robbery of a very expensive ring.
  • When: March 2021
  • Where: In the parking lot outside medical practice offices in Summerlin.
  • Why: That’s the question, isn’t it? Why isn’t anyone looking into this except me, SA Barket? This was a big-deal robbery at the time. The media was all over it — local TV stations, print media … but now? It’s dead. It has withered on the vine. The question of why should not only try to answer the question of why this person, Carol Jimmerson, was robbed at this time. The questions also should be asked as to why have all reporting and references to this robbery disappeared from online archives? Why, instead of seemingly burying this event, isn’t the media following up on it? An arrest was made. Charges were filed. Court proceedings were initiated. But the case essentially was dropped. For a time. When the case initially was dropped, the prosecutor at the time, a woman named Danielle Pieper, also filed a Marcum Notice in open court (see PDF of that court document here: Page 3 on 02-09-2022 with the notation, “Marcum Notice Served in Open Court”), which sort of puts the case in suspended animation. (See arrest warrant and report here: PDF / Case No. 21-CR-012251).  Shortly after Danielle Pieper dismissed the charges against Hobbie and filed the Marcum Notice in court, Gov. Joe Lombardo appointed her to the open Eighth Judicial District Court, Department 7 — on Feb. 28, 2023.

More details on the nuances of filing a Marcum Notice in Nevada: When the State of Nevada, represented by Danielle “Pieper” Chio, dropped the charges in the robbery, the court notations indicated that the matter was dismissed by the State pursuant to NRS 174.085, which notes that the State also filed a Marcum Notice in court the day the charges were dropped. A Marcum Notice allows the State to convene a grand jury to investigate the charges initially filed and allows the State to bring those charges to a grand jury for consideration for indictment.

The Marcum Notice, however, expires with the statute of limitations associated with the date the crime was committed. In this case, the robbery of Carol Jimmerson’s ring is documented as being committed on Feb. 23, 2021. The statute of limitations on robbery in the State of Nevada is four years, which means the statute of limitations as well as the Marcum Notice for this crime expired on Feb. 23, 2025.

The man identified by Carol Jimmerson as the getaway driver — Eric Hobbie — was charged with the following counts: 1) conspiracy to commit robbery, 2) battery with intent to commit robbery, 3) grand larceny. All three charges are Class B felonies in the State of Nevada.

However, after years of no action in this case, a few months before the Marcum Notice and the statute of limitations for the crime of robbery was to expire, Judicial Officer Jennifer Schwartz held a calendar call on Sept. 9, 2024. In Nevada courts, a calendar call is a brief, pre-trial hearing where the judge reviews the status of cases.  A week later, on Sept. 16, 2024, the judge canceled a jury trial for the case. There was no further action on the case, and the Marcum Notice and the robbery charges related to the ring robbery ran out.

A month after that calendar call on Sept. 9, 2024, however, in October, a plea of guilty was entered on behalf Eric Hobbie by his attorneys on a separate case (See PDF here: Case No. C-23-374455-1) for the charges of two counts of “Conspiracy to Commit a Crime,” which, in a plea agreement, Hobbie agreed to plead guilty to those two counts. The court documents noted, “My decision to plead guilty is based upon the plea agreement in this case which is as follows:

  • Both parties stipulate to a sentence of three hundred and sixty-four (364) days in the
Clark County Detention Center per count.
  • Both sentences are to run concurrent to each other and to Case No. 24-CR-081641. (I could not find any court records related to Case No. 24-CR-081641.)

On Oct. 16, 2024, Eric Hobbie’s guilty plea on these charges was accepted by the court, and Hobbie was sentenced to 364 days in jail — one day short of a year.

How the robbery allegedly played out:

You’d think this is a simple story about a simple robbery. On the surface, that’s what everyone seems to believe. But the story behind this “simple” robbery of an expensive ring from a woman’s hand has more depth and complexity than the finest cabernet. Lots of nuances, lots of different notes, a huge cast of characters.

On the surface let’s discuss the robbery itself. There allegedly were four involved in the actual robbery:

  1. The architect of the robbery
  2. The actual robber
  3. The lookout/getaway driver
  4. The victim, Carol Jimmerson

In 2021, Carol Jimmerson went to a medical appointment in Las Vegas’s Summerlin area. She parked her deep red, high-end Mercedes G-Wagon in an open parking lot at the medical center in a space that was one of the farthest away from the building, and went in for her appointment. She left the building after her appointment was over and walked back to her vehicle.

As she got to her G-Wagon, unlocked it and opened her door, a man came up from behind her, pinning her against the vehicle; she was half-in, half-out of the vehicle. A struggle ensued, and the man allegedly wrested away a very expensive diamond ring from her hand. The man then fled from Carol Jimmerson and her G-Wagon and jumped into a waiting vehicle, making his escape.

A relatively cut and dry case, right? All the appearance of the robbery being a crime of opportunity — a woman driving an expensive vehicle, wearing an expensive ring, just being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

But we believe that’s not what’s going on here. There’s much more to the story than initially meets the eye. In my opinion, it was a setup.

Sigal Chattah and Her Connection With A Scary Visit to the Desert

SIGAL-CHATTAH-us attorney nevada interim LAS-VEGAS-DESERTI was told a frightening story about a woman’s violent experience with Anthony “Nino” D’Anna. D’Anna was charged (filed May 2017 as State of Nevada v. Anthony Francis Danna, Jr.; Case No. 17F08833X) with “Domestic Battery by Strangulation” and “Domestic Battery.” According to the woman who accused D’Anna, she was beaten, strangled, taken into the desert outside of Las Vegas, dumped, and left for dead.

The case took two years to wind its way through the court system. Ultimately, the late Judge Melanie Tobiasson, who died by a gunshot wound in January 2023, which the Clark County Coroner ruled as a suicide, dismissed the case against D’Anna with the notation on July 6, 2017: “State Not Proceeding (Nolle Prosequi).”

I find this interesting, because I know Tony D’Anna had an intimate personal relationship with Judge Tobiasson for a time, although both publicly denied it. However D’Anna had volunteered information to me that he had sex with the judge in the front seat of a Corvette parked at a very popular Las Vegas restaurant, Peiro’s Italian Cuisine, where they were having dinner that evening.

Even though the two denied having an intimate relationship, media reports (such as a story published online by Las Vegas’s News Channel 8, headlined, “I-TEAM: Las Vegas judge formally accused of abusing her power, improper conduct“, which we are quoting from) documented that, “According to the [Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department], police learned [Judge Tobiasson] had more than 1,000 communications over five months with organized crime figure, Anthony Danna, who she had previously dismissed charges against in her courtroom. Police say she also later communicated with him while he was a fugitive.”

In a separate story published by the Toronto Sun (see image below), longtime journalist Dana Gentry, who writes for the Nevada Current, raised an interesting note about her conversations with Judge Melanie Tobiasson over time while Tobiasson was fighting allegations of ethical impropriety. According to the Toronto Sun story, Gentry was skeptical that Tobiasson committed suicide. Gentry was quoted in the story as saying, “I can’t tell you how many times Melanie told me, ‘If I wind up dead, remember I wasn’t suicidal,’ Dana Gentry told the New York Post. She was being followed, all sorts of things. She was unusual in the sense that she was willing to stand up for the truth even though she knew it might ruin her career.”

That statement by Gentry must also be measured against and considered in addition to the death of another mother who committed suicide within five months of Tobiasson’s death, a woman named Sydney Land, the two, “both spent years fighting the Las Vegas Metro Police Department over what they alleged was a cover-up of a still-unsolved double homicide tied to underage sex trafficking,” The NY Post reported.

“Judge Melanie Andress-Tobiasson, 55, who stepped down from the bench a year ago to avoid an ethics probe, killed herself Jan. 20 at her $2 million Vegas mansion. The Clark County coroner’s office said she died from a gunshot wound.

“Andress-Tobiasson’s one-time friend Connie Land, 53, shot herself to death Aug. 10, 2022, at her Las Vegas home after crusading for six years for justice for her daughter.

“Land’s daughter Sydney Land, 21, was murdered along with her 19-year-old boyfriend, Nehemiah “Neo” Kauffman, a reported pimp, in October 2016. The homicides remain unsolved.” (NY Post; Inside the mysterious suicides of two Las Vegas moms who accused cops of cover-up; By Dana Kennedy; Published Feb. 16, 2023)

How does Sigal Chattah tie into this? Chattah was friends with Tobiasson, also had dinner at Piero’s (shown above) on the evening of the Corvette-Tobiasson-D’Anna “connection.” Chattah knows D’Anna, knows about his criminal background, is friends with him, and represented both Nino and his mother, Erlava D’Anna, in several court cases — one of which resulted in a significant settlement for Nino. Chattah and Tobiasson were connected through the Nevada courts and legal system, and interestingly enough, Tobiasson dismissed the battery case against Nino D’Anna detailed above. What you can’t read between the lines in the cold, antiseptic legal jargon has to come from the victim to fill in the blanks — that she was beaten and strangled by D’Anna, driven into the desert and dumped for dead.

The tentacles of Chattah’s connections should not be underestimated — they run from the highest levels of Nevada state government — and even beyond, to the national level — to the lowest of the low convicted felons, such as Nino D’Anna himself. And Chattah does not shy away from throwing her considerable political weight around; just ask anyone in the hierarchy of the Nevada Republican Party (particularly the Clark County GOP) who would be willing to speak about her honestly on the record.

Who is Tony “Nino” D’Anna, & What Are His Connections?

Tony (“Nino”) D’Anna, 46 (Convicted Felon)

sigal chattah interim us attorney nevada tony-nino-danna-by-SAB

Tony “Nino” D’Anna

The origins of my involvement with Tony “Nino” D’Anna began in 2010, when I was introduced to him by a woman named Rochanna Ghafouri, a Las Vegas area Realtor, who at the time was Nino’s girlfriend. As a result of that introduction, I formed a friendship with Nino D’Anna that had been ongoing for more than 10 years.

D’Anna had been open with me in his past in conversations over time that I had with D’Anna; he admitted to being a drug dealer and convicted felon. He also told me that he did high-interest cash loans, frequently with his friend and business associate Shafik Hirji. D’Anna told me about a relationship he had with another of his one-time girlfriends. He said he had been arrested for domestic violence, home invasion and other charges related to his treatment of her.

D’Anna has an explosive and dangerous temper. His ex-girlfriend victim has her own harrowing story to tell about what happened to her at the hands of D’Anna beyond the sterile court proceedings documentation.

Judge Melanie Tobiasson had her hands all over this case. She ruled to dismiss the case, and in separate rulings over the course of the case, ruled to recall D’Anna’s arrest warrant, order D’Anna’s release under his own recognizance with intense supervision, rescinded the order of “intense supervision,” ordered no contact with the victim; then she closed the case with the note: “State Not Proceeding.” After the case concluded, however, Nino’s ex-girlfriend victim told a story of being beaten by D’Anna, driven into the Las Vegas desert, and being dumped and left for dead.

  • D’Anna, as a convicted felon, is someone who is known in the eyes of the law as a “prohibited person.” A prohibited person is someone who is not allowed to possess or buy firearms under federal law. D’Anna skirted this issue in the following way: Vickie Dehart bought firearms, which once in her possession, he had access to. D’Anna confided in me and said that Vickie Dehart purchased two “assault rifles” one of them was an FN SCAR – an AR 15-style rifle. (Similar to the one shown below.)

sigal-chattah-interim-us-attorney-nevada-fn-scar-assault-rifleThe US Department of Justice tracks all legal firearms purchases by having the purchaser fill out a Firearms Transaction Record, known as a Form 4473. It is a seven-page form that requires extensive purchaser information, including a your driver’s license number. There also is a warning that all purchasers must acknowledge, which states the following in bold-face lettering: “Warning: You are not the actual transferee/buyer if you are acquiring any of the firearm(s) on behalf of another person.” Purchasers must sign the form and acknowledge they are abiding by and have read all the legal parameters related to purchasing the firearm and the law that governs it.

It appears Nino D’Annna doesn’t understand that legal concept, nor does his keeper, Vickie Dehart.

A convicted felon and identified organized crime figure (see image below and link: RJ – Judge Accused of Improper Involvement in Murder Probe) named Anthony (Nino) D’Anna (a k a, Tony D’Anna, Anthony Danna, Tony Danna) confided to SA Barket that D’Anna’s attorney at the time, Sigal Chattah, had been contacted by then-Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Sheriff Joe Lombardo about comments by Chattah that Lombardo said he found troubling. (This was before Lombardo ran for and won the election to become Governor of the State of Nevada in 2022. Sigal Chattah also was on the ballot that year as a Republican candidate for Attorney General, going up against Democratic incumbent Ford.)

D’Anna relayed to SA Barket that Lombardo told Chattah that he did not appreciate her talking about him in a negative way, which he had heard about through an interesting source of information — a wiretap. According to D’Anna, Chattah’s remarks came to light from wiretap recordings that had been made with subjects related to an investigation into the mysterious robbery of a supposedly very pricey ring worn by Carol Jimmerson, wife of prominent Las Vegas attorney Jim Jimmerson. The robbery occurred in a parking lot outside of a medical office in Summerlin, a suburb of Las Vegas.

According to public domain campaign records, D’Anna’s statements were substantiated by proof of tens of thousands of dollars in donations through various actors and entities connected to prominent Las Vegas businesswoman, Vickie Dehart, which were used to funnel money to both Lombardo’s campaign for Governor and the 2022 Republican candidate for Nevada Attorney General, Sigal Chattah, among others.

Sigal Chattah & Her Connected Cast of Characters

What follows is an outline of relationships related to Sigal Chattah, Nevada attorney, prominent GOP operative and fundraiser, and one-time candidate for Nevada Attorney General (as a Republican, she lost to incumbent Democrat Aaron Ford in the Nov. 8, 2022 election). These are some of her key relationships, which we will detail in upcoming posts, however we just wanted to give you a lay of the land, so to speak.

  • Anthony “Nino” D’Anna (a k a, Tony D’Anna, Anthony Danna, Tony Danna) — a convicted felon and identified organized crime figure, per published reports; Chattah represented Tony in a court case involving an accident with a limousine company, settling for an undisclosed rather large sum and having the case sealed.
  • Erlava D’Anna, Tony’s mother — Chattah has represented Erlava in court cases, serving as her attorney on two occasions in cases related to the Herman Family Trust.
  • Carol Jimmerson, wife of prominent Las Vegas attorney Jim Jimmerson — victim of a highly suspect theft of a purportedly very valuable ring
  • Vickie Dehart — Prominent Las Vegas businesswoman, heavy political donor through both her own contributions and those of numerous other proxies (businesses, family, friends & associates)
  • Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Melanie Tobiasson — Caught up in ethics charges, she was ruled by the Clark County Coroner as having committed suicide by gunshot in January 2023.

This is only scratching the surface of connections between Sigal Chattah and a huge cast of characters whose tentacles spread far and wide, involving some of the biggest movers and shakers in Las Vegas. Much more to come on this fascinating story.

Vickie Dehart, a k a  “Mrs. Nip Tuck” (who I refer to that way endearingly), is a woman who appears to have had a lot of nips and tucks. A beautiful woman for her age — which is 63 — nonetheless.

According to Clark County property deeds and records, at one time Vickie Dehart bought Nino D’Anna and his mother, Erlava, more specifically, a $1.5 million house (Nino’s mother’s name is on the deed — see property overview report below:)

The 6W’s of the Carol Jimmerson Ring Robbery: Who, What, When, Where, Why & Wiretap (… and How)
