A Question for Sigal Chattah: How are you feeling about that post on X you made about the Pope now that he has died?

Dear Sigal Chattah,

Now that the Pope  has passed away, I would like to again bring up and discuss your X post on Feb. 17 in which you said, “I know more people praying for his expiration than for his recovery.” (Here’s a link to her Feb. 17, 2025 X post with her comment about the Pope: (https://x.com/Chattah4Nevada/status/1891560332184752239)

Probably the most profound thing you’ve said on that post, and which I think should apply to most of what you’ve done and said in the entirety of 2025 is: “I should probably sit this one out …”

I would completely agree — your appointment as interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada, your X posts, your promotion of things coming out of and happening in that office that you’ve had nothing to do with … everything.

But in true Chattah form, you didn’t take your own advice about sitting it out. So since you said you know many people that were hoping for the Pope’s demise, I’m just wondering if you could share with the rest of us there/your feelings now that the Pope died on Easter Monday, one day after Easter on Sunday. (BTW, he’s also the first Pope  from South America.)

Not that your opinion is worth any more value as an appointed interim US Attorney …

As I agree with a recent article that stated you were grossly unfit for the job (which also was the opinion of the Nevada Democratic Party (“Sigal Chattah is grossly unfit to serve as Nevada’s US Attorney — read here: NV Dems). I couldn’t agree more.

There’s a picture I’d like to refer to that was in the Las Vegas Review Journal (Sept. 9, 2024 LVRJ — scroll past the video thumbnail photo to other images) as you were walking out the Las Vegas downtown federal building with convicted felon Michele Fiori that makes my point. Fiore was found guilty in October 2024 of federal wire fraud and conspiracy charges. Her request for a new trial was recently dismissed. Fiore is a committeewoman for the Nevada Republican Party and was a justice of the peace for Pahrump in Nye County, Nevada. In 2024, she was convicted of seven counts of federal felony fraud for stealing $70,000 that was purportedly being raised to go towards a memorial to fallen police officers, which never materialized.

Remember, you weren’t confirmed to your current position, it’s an interim appointment only, and I’m predicting if your selection to be US Attorney for the District of Nevada moves forward to the US Senate Judiciary Committee, that process will certainly be ugly.

The clock’s ticking on that …

Sincerely,
SA Barket
