It looks like it’s good to be a friend and/or colleague of Sigal Chattah

OPINION: BY SA BARKET

It’s starting to look more and more like it’s a good thing to call interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada Sigal Chattah a friend or colleague (you know, like Anthony “Tony / Nino” D’Anna, for example).

Any conflict of interest on this one, Sigal? Your legal buddy, Michele Fiore, who you accompanied to her arraignment back in September, avoided a potential 140-year sentence after her conviction on six counts of federal wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud thanks to a pardon from President Donald Trump. It came just a few days after her conviction. Before the public even had any time to digest the news. Before any outrage about the conviction burst forth from … wherever. (I don’t think anyone was really anticipating that.) We’ll be getting into more of the details surrounding this case in future write ups.

That’s a conviction on seven counts, each with a maximum sentence of 20 years. I’ll do the math: 7 counts X 20 years each = 140 years. Potentially. If Michele got the maximum and the sentences didn’t run concurrently.

No wonder Michele is thanking God she got pardoned. I would be, too.

Here’s the headline in the NY Post (see above), which sums it up perfectly:

“Trump pardons Nevada politician who used $70K from slain cop’s memorial funds to pay for plastic surgery, daughter’s wedding”

Michele Fiore was convicted of using money raised for a memorial for a cop who was killed in the line of duty for … plastic surgery and her daughter’s wedding?

Doesn’t this get you angry, Sigal, as the “top cop” in the state of Nevada — the interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada — watching someone like suspended and convicted Justice of the Peace Michele Fiore found guilty by a jury on all counts walk free before sentencing?

Or is it a sense of relief and joy because the two of you are legal running buddies here in Las Vegas and work (or at least had worked) in leadership roles in the Nevada state Republican Party?

I saw the photograph in the Las Vegas Review Journal (linked here: Sept. 9, 2024) of you and Michele leaving the Lloyd D. George United States Courthouse back on Sept. 9, 2024 — the date of Michele’s arraignment preceding her trial.

I would think you would have very conflicted emotions about her pardon. On the one hand, as a colleague feeling relief for her pardoning, juxtaposed against your role as Nevada’s interim US attorney wanting to see justice done.

Or did you perhaps have something to do with the pardon in any way? Just asking a question. Many other top law enforcement and government officials in Las Vegas and Nevada I’ve spoken with used the word “disgusting” when it came to Fiore’s pardon.

As the current interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada, I’d think you’d similarly offer some expression of anger at someone convicted of the crimes Fiore was tried for getting off the hook. I’m waiting … still waiting.

Shortly after Michele Fiore’s conviction and just before sentencing for a potential 140 years in jail — like Charlie Brown running up to kick that football that Lucy is holding, you saw that conviction and sentencing snatched away by President Trump’s pardon of her, just days after her conviction and before she even was sentenced.

Where is the press release coming from your office on this one, Sigal? That would be an interesting one to write. How would you frame that? Would it go something like this:

“Michele Fiore, pursued by federal prosecutors for misappropriating funds being raised for a police memorial and and instead using them for her own personal expenses and convicted on all seven counts against her, just before sentencing received a pardon from President Donald Trump.”

How’s that working for you? Oh, right. I forgot. You have different tiers of justice for people who you are closely associated with, like Tony “Nino“ D’Anna. This is all starting to make sense now.

I don’t doubt there’s much more to these Michele Fiore shenanigans than meets the eye. I will be doing some digging to see what I can find out this — you know, the Who, What, When, Where, Why & How of it. (At this point, I don’t think there’s a 6th W — Wiretap — involved.)

I’m beginning to wonder about my Republican Party. About you, I have no doubts, though, Sigal. You are unfit to continue in the role of US Attorney for the District of Nevada, in my opinion. Are you really ready for the verbal onslaught and beat-down you likely will receive at the hands of the Senate Judiciary Committee should you get to that confirmation hearing?

You wrote in an X post not too long ago when you congratulated Kash Patel for his appointment as FBI Director, “What a time to be alive.” Yes, indeed. I will revel in this time as I watch your interim appointment crash and burn. Just taking a page from your X protocol.

Stand by for further developments.

I’m hearing that Anthony D’Anna (aka “Tony,” aka “Nino”) seems to think he has a get-out-of-jail-free card, so to speak, in the form of Sigal Chattah

OPINION: BY SA BARKET

I’ve heard recently that Anthony D’Anna (aka “Tony,” aka “Nino”) has been bragging that he’s untouchable because of his relationship with current interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada Sigal Chattah.

us attorney interim nevada sigal chattah get out of jail freeThis boasting by Tony about his being untouchable comes on the heels of the recent news of one of Sigal Chattah’s closest legal and political colleagues, Michele Fiore, being granted a full pardon by President Trump.

Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Makes you wonder about the connection between Michele Fiore (who’s actually been nicknamed, “Lady Trump”), Sigal Chattah and President Trump. Like, I wonder how Michele Fiore’s pardon happened so fast for a state-level Republican politician to have gotten a pardon just days after her conviction? And even before her sentencing? Could have been 140 years, or could have been a relative slap on the wrist. We’ll never know now.

Makes you wonder, did Sigal Chattah have a role in Fiore’s pardon. You don’t have to be smacked in the face with a 2×4 to come up with the possibility of that connection. How did Fiore get a pardon with such a convincing conviction with such blatant disregard for the law? The financial evidence and court documents brought forward by the prosecuting federal attorneys (hello, Sigal Chattah) speak for themselves.

And one last question: Are you sure about this one, President Trump, any second thoughts about this pardon?

Michele Fiore was previously a city councilwoman and was a Justice of the Peace before being suspended July 24, 2024 when she was charged with, subsequently tried for, and convicted of six counts of federal wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. These charges were in connection with Fiore using money raised to be used for a statue honoring a slain police officer on personal expenses, including plastic surgery and her daughter’s wedding.

Fiore and Chattah are closely connected, both through their legal profession as well as a sisterhood (my word, my opinion) through Nevada Republican politics as leaders for that party in the state.

Let me be clear, I am a “Superfan” with a capital “S” of President Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel. I am not, however any sort of fan of Chattah’s installment as interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada. I don’t understand her appointment, nor do I understand the pardon of Michele Fiore before she even was sentenced after her conviction on all seven counts.

Bad, bad choice, in my opinion, of Chattah to serve even as an interim appointment in that role. A choice made, I believe, because of a lack of all the information to be had related to Chattah (much of which can be found in the many posts and pages published on this website).

President Trump, AG Bondi, Director Patel; please take note.

Thank you.

Sigal Chattah & Her “Convict Connection”

By SA Barket

You should know about Sigal Chattah and her “Convict Connection:”

  1. Questionable Judgment #1: While running for the Nevada state office of Attorney General in 2022, Sigal Chattah texted that her opponent, incumbent AG Aaron Ford, a Black man, “… should be hanging from a f—ing crane.”
  2. Questionable Judgment #2: Sigal Chattah introduced convicted felon Tony D’Anna to the late Judge Melanie Tobiasson, who later presided over a case involving D’Anna’s home invasion and strangulation of his then-girlfriend. Tobiasson ultimately dismissed the case.
  3. Questionable Judgment #3: Sigal Chattah, who already had known Tony D’Anna for quite some time (well over 10 years ago; Tony had taken me to meet her at her somewhat shabby offices on Rainbow), introduced Las Vegas businesswoman Vickie Dehart to him at Piero’s, a well-known Italian restaurant near the Las Vegas Convention Center. When D’Anna realized the kind of money that Dehart had, he persuaded Vickie (who ultimately became his girlfriend and who still is his current girlfriend) to donate thousands of dollars to her campaign for Nevada Attorney General in 2022.
  4. The Epitome of Questionable Judgment: Sigal Chattah has engaged in what I see as the very meaning of the phrase “questionable judgment,” in that she has engaged in a long-time relationship with D’Anna, who is a “known and documented organized crime figure” (named as such by Attorney Thomas C. Bradley, Prosecuting Officer for the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline in a disciplinary case brought against the late Judge Melanie Tobiasson — see Paragraph 13, Page 4) and in various news reports such as this one in the Las Vegas Review Journal, Pg.3, and who has now been appointed as the interim United States Attorney for the District Attorney for Nevada, who has benefited financially and with status.
  5. Influence #1: The tentacles of Sigal Chattah’s political, judicial, financial and personal relationships are wide ranging and she wields her bulldog-like personality to manipulate all to her benefit.
  6. Influence #2: Leading up to her 2022 AG election, D’Anna boasted that if Chattah was elected, he would have, as he termed it, “the juice.”
  7. Influence #3: According to information I have received, Sigal Chattah allegedly introduced D’Anna, also at Piero’s, to a woman named Carol Jimmerson, who is married to prominent Las Vegas attorney Jim Jimmerson. Sometime later, Carol Jimmerson had a very expensive ring stolen from her in a robbery that happened in a parking lot in Summerlin. (Watch LVMPD video on the robbery here: Carol Jimmerson Ring Robbery.) Note: this case was never solved to this day, and has disappeared from the radar except for the link here.
  8. The Payoff: Sigal Chattah’s introduction of D’Anna to Vickie Dehart paid off in a big way. Sigal was able to get thousands of dollars in donations, and D’Anna got a $1.5 million house, a Rolls Royce Ghost, a Ferrari SF-90 (and currently a Ferrari 488 Pista), not to mention a number of high-end vehicles. Let’s not forget about the introduction to Judge Tobiasson, which resulted in a huge payoff for D’Anna in that she dismissed the domestic battery and strangulation case that was brought against him (Case No. 18F01395X)
  9. Details: I am going to explain in great detail below and throughout this website what makes the relationship between recently nominated interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada, Sigal Chattah, and convicted felon Tony D’Anna not a typical client-attorney relationship.

Sigal Chattah, because of her line of work as an attorney here in Nevada, is involved with many criminals and accused criminals. That’s natural.

But there’s one particular felon, one convict who is of special note: Anthony “Tony” aka “Nino” D’Anna.

Nino is connected both directly and indirectly with the one-time candidate for Nevada Attorney General, Sigal Chattah. (By the way, Chattah was defeated by then-incumbent and now current Nevada AG Aaron Ford in the 2022 election, who she texted, “… should be hanging from a f—ing crane.”)

Nino is a convicted felon — a “known and documented organized crime figure”  — and served time behind bars on drug charges. He also was charged with domestic battery and strangulation of his girlfriend at the time. Yeah, he’s a real “peach” of a guy. And Chattah knows all this about Tony.

Sigal Chattah is friends with a Las Vegas businesswoman named Vickie Dehart — the two are close enough that one night Chattah introduced Vickie and Tony to each other while they all were having dinner at Piero’s Italian Cuisine restaurant just off the strip next to the Las Vegas Convention Center — according to an eyewitness account by a person to  whom I have spoken.

I also have personally been with Sigal Chattah, Anthony D’Anna, and Judge Melanie Tobiasson at Piero’s Italian Cuisine restaurant. Judge Tobiasson’s drunken behavior was so outlandish one night, it was beyond belief. She was waving a loaded gun around at the table.

Tony ingratiated himself to Vickie, and soon enough the two became “an item.”

At the time Tony and Vickie met, I was told by Tony that Vickie was married to her husband, Paul Dehart. Tony and Vickie have been an item for several years, but according to records in Clark County, Nevada, there have been no separation or divorce records filed between Paul and Vickie that I could locate.  Paul Dehart is part of the founding group of EHB Companies, which includes Vickie and a man named Yohan Lowie. That complicates things among the three of them, as EHB Companies recently settled a case surrounding a development called The Badlands, against the City of Las Vegas for several hundred million dollars.

Shortly after they met in late 2019 or early 2020, Tony called me and asked about buying a Rolls Royce. He wanted to know who I knew at Towbin Motorcars. I directed him to a guy named Dave, who at the time was the General Manager. He was able to get Vickie to buy a brand new Rolls Royce Ghost.

Prior to the November 2022 election night watch party at T-Bones Chophouse at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa — which D’Anna, Vickie, and Sigal Chattah all attended — D’Anna had boasted to me that if Chattah got elected as Nevada’s new Attorney General, that he would have the “juice” to get things done with her in that position of power.

You can read more about that here: The Juice.

Sigal Chattah’s 2022 AG Candidacy and Tony “Nino” D’Anna Being Able to Get the “Juice”

Interesting cast of characters: Sigal Chattah (bottom left) with Vickie Dehart (top left) and Tony D’Anna (top right) gathered at the same table at T-Bones Chophouse on the evening of Nov. 8, 2022 for a Republican Watch Party to watch the day’s election returns.

By SA Barket

On the evening of November 8, 2022, at an election night watch party at T-Bones Chophouse at Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa that Anthony “Nino” D’Anna, Vickie Dehart, and Sigal Chattah all attended. In previous statements, D’Anna was boasting that if Chattah got elected as Nevada’s new Attorney General, that D’Anna would have the “juice” to get things done with her in that position of power.

Sigal Chattah was on the ballot as the Republican candidate running against then-incumbent and now current Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford. Also on the ballot that year was then-LVMPD Sheriff Joe Lombardo as the Republican candidate running against incumbent Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak. Lombardo won his election; Chattah lost.

Apparently, even though Chattah lost that election to Ford, that “juice” boast still seemed to play out.

Consider, for example, that D’Anna and a man named Shafik Hirji — who claims to own, or is in charge of, a chain of automotive shops in the Las Vegas area called Purrfect Auto Service (PAS) and a sister auto company named USA Auto Service, as well as a furniture store in the Boulevard Mall called Furniture Fashions — have a business relationship as well as a friendship. (Hirji lives in a home owned by his son, Rahim Hirji, in the same 24/7 guard-monitored, gated community as I do.) According to Zillow, the house has an estimated market value of more than $3 million.

Previously, Hirji had been charged by the State of Nevada for the following (quoting directly from language in the findings in the September 2011 case, which can be read in full here – NV Case No. A531745):

  • “The scheme perpetuated at all of the PAS locations controlled by Hirji consists of selling unnecessary repairs and charging for parts that were never installed.” and “… in most if not all cases, customers pay for what are commonly called ‘phantom services’ where, although paid for by the customer, services are not done and parts are not replaced.”

To prove this, the State of Nevada set up undercover stings.

  • The State, represented by current Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, who at the time was AG for Nevada, certified the findings of fact; PAS was fined some $300,000 in 2011, without being adjusted for interest over the years, and Hirji was “permanently enjoined against continuing to engage or participate in the automotive repair business in the State of Nevada …”
    • Additionally, Hirji reneged on a payment plan he agreed to with the Las Vegas Review Journal for neglecting to pay his bill with them for advertising charges in the amount of $435,292.33.

D’Anna told me that Chattah said that she had a way of getting his buddy Hirji’s $218,000 judgment, plus $75,000 in attorney’s fees, quashed so it wouldn’t get renewed; allegedly, low and behold, that’s exactly what happened. (See 2017 Renewal of Judgment here: Affidavit for Renewal of Judgment). That judgment was never renewed, Hirji never paid anything, and now Shafik is neck deep back in his auto businesses. At the time of this post, we have not been able to find any proof that this judgment was paid.

Also, Hirji was convicted in federal court for bankruptcy fraud. (See document here: Hirji bankruptcy fraud case.) He also is a convicted felon.

Just laying out the facts and the connections for as many people as possible to see, beyond just me.

Girlfriend Vickie Dehart, and Sigal Chattah: Movers & Shakers in Tony “Nino” Danna’s World?

sigal chattah interim us attorney nevada and vickie-dehart-and-las-vegas-2By SA Barket

Who are the movers & shakers in Tony “Nino” D’Anna’s world?

You might want to look at his girlfriend, Vickie Dehart, as well as Republican political operative Sigal Chattah, who as of today, April 1, 2025, has been named as the interim US Attorney for the District of Nevada.

Vickie Dehart has made significant political contributions to a multitude of candidates for various offices across the political spectrum — both Republicans and Democrats at all levels of office. Tens of thousands of dollars over the years. She colors both Red and Blue.

From what I’ve been able to find, Vickie Dehart has contributed large sums of money in political contributions. I have all the records. Or, it’s no secret. Just go to OpenSecrets.org and search for donors who have relationships with Vickie. That’s the fog of her connections — one degree or less of separation.

Is it maybe Nino’s relationship with Sigal Chattah? Chattah made a run at Nevada’s office of Attorney General in 2022. She’s also currently the Nevada State Republican Party National Committeewoman. She’s a woman of high influence and who has all kinds of connections.

Chattah is friends with Vickie Dehart — close enough friends with both Tony and Vickie that she introduced the two one night while they all were at dinner at Piero’s Italian Cuisine restaurant,  just off the strip next to the Las Vegas Convention Center, according to an eyewitness account.

Tony was a man on a mission. Tony and Vickie really hit it off after that introduction.  He REALLY wanted to get to know Vickie. So much so that they are currently a hot item — or so we suppose, as boyfriend & girlfriend.

Thanks to Sigal Chattah.

According to Clark County property records, Vickie Dehart bought a $1.5 million home for Erlava D’Anna, Tony’s mother (see the documentation of this below), in addition to a Rolls Royce, a Ferrari SF-90, and a Ferrari 488 Pista, most recently. He’s been seen — as the arrogant man he is — parking in a handicap zone at Lifetime Fitness in Summerlin.

How has Tony D’Anna managed to slide by for so many years since being released from his incarceration on a federal drug charge? Tony D’Anna has on more than one occasion bragged about not filing tax returns and said he has never had a bank account in his name; he told me he used his mom’s bank account when he had to, but primarily dealt in cash.

The classic 5Ws of any news story: who, what, when, where, why? (Plus the infamous Wiretap — the 6th W in this case.)

How does a wiretap play into this? Let me explain:

Tony D’Anna met me at Jeannie’s restaurant in Nordstrom’s at the Fashion Show Mall. While we were sitting there, his phone rang. It was Sigal Chattah. She explained to Tony that a high-ranking Nevada law enforcement officer had just informed her that he did not appreciate Sigal talking about him on a recording that he had of a wiretap.

To further the claim I laid out above, as a twist of fate, I had a personal conversation with that exact high-ranking Nevada law enforcement officer, and he did confirm the wiretap.

For now, this is all that I can disclose. Except to say that the wiretap is directly related to the 2021 robbery of Carol Jimmerson of Las Vegas. She’s a prominent businesswoman in her own right and is married to a very well-known and successful Las Vegas attorney.

The 5Ws that surround this very curious robbery are, upon my own information and belief and opinion, the following:

  • Who: I learned that allegedly at least two men were associated in executing the robbery plan: Eric Hobbie and a man named “Avery.” I believe there is at least one other person connected to this robbery. Eric and Avery were only the two who allegedly pulled off the robbery. There were others behind the planning of this robbery.
  • What: The robbery of a very expensive ring.
  • When: March 2021
  • Where: In the parking lot outside medical practice offices in Summerlin.
  • Why: That’s the question, isn’t it? Why isn’t anyone looking into this except me, SA Barket? This was a big-deal robbery at the time. The media was all over it — local TV stations, print media … but now? It’s dead. It has withered on the vine. The question of why should not only try to answer the question of why this person, Carol Jimmerson, was robbed at this time. The questions also should be asked as to why have all reporting and references to this robbery disappeared from online archives? Why, instead of seemingly burying this event, isn’t the media following up on it? An arrest was made. Charges were filed. Court proceedings were initiated. But the case essentially was dropped. For a time. When the case initially was dropped, the prosecutor at the time, a woman named Danielle Pieper, also filed a Marcum Notice in open court (see PDF of that court document here: Page 3 on 02-09-2022 with the notation, “Marcum Notice Served in Open Court”), which sort of puts the case in suspended animation. (See arrest warrant and report here: PDF / Case No. 21-CR-012251).  Shortly after Danielle Pieper dismissed the charges against Hobbie and filed the Marcum Notice in court, Gov. Joe Lombardo appointed her to the open Eighth Judicial District Court, Department 7 — on Feb. 28, 2023.

More details on the nuances of filing a Marcum Notice in Nevada: When the State of Nevada, represented by Danielle “Pieper” Chio, dropped the charges in the robbery, the court notations indicated that the matter was dismissed by the State pursuant to NRS 174.085, which notes that the State also filed a Marcum Notice in court the day the charges were dropped. A Marcum Notice allows the State to convene a grand jury to investigate the charges initially filed and allows the State to bring those charges to a grand jury for consideration for indictment.

The Marcum Notice, however, expires with the statute of limitations associated with the date the crime was committed. In this case, the robbery of Carol Jimmerson’s ring is documented as being committed on Feb. 23, 2021. The statute of limitations on robbery in the State of Nevada is four years, which means the statute of limitations as well as the Marcum Notice for this crime expired on Feb. 23, 2025.

The man identified by Carol Jimmerson as the getaway driver — Eric Hobbie — was charged with the following counts: 1) conspiracy to commit robbery, 2) battery with intent to commit robbery, 3) grand larceny. All three charges are Class B felonies in the State of Nevada.

However, after years of no action in this case, a few months before the Marcum Notice and the statute of limitations for the crime of robbery was to expire, Judicial Officer Jennifer Schwartz held a calendar call on Sept. 9, 2024. In Nevada courts, a calendar call is a brief, pre-trial hearing where the judge reviews the status of cases.  A week later, on Sept. 16, 2024, the judge canceled a jury trial for the case. There was no further action on the case, and the Marcum Notice and the robbery charges related to the ring robbery ran out.

A month after that calendar call on Sept. 9, 2024, however, in October, a plea of guilty was entered on behalf Eric Hobbie by his attorneys on a separate case (See PDF here: Case No. C-23-374455-1) for the charges of two counts of “Conspiracy to Commit a Crime,” which, in a plea agreement, Hobbie agreed to plead guilty to those two counts. The court documents noted, “My decision to plead guilty is based upon the plea agreement in this case which is as follows:

  • Both parties stipulate to a sentence of three hundred and sixty-four (364) days in the
Clark County Detention Center per count.
  • Both sentences are to run concurrent to each other and to Case No. 24-CR-081641. (I could not find any court records related to Case No. 24-CR-081641.)

On Oct. 16, 2024, Eric Hobbie’s guilty plea on these charges was accepted by the court, and Hobbie was sentenced to 364 days in jail — one day short of a year.

How the robbery allegedly played out:

You’d think this is a simple story about a simple robbery. On the surface, that’s what everyone seems to believe. But the story behind this “simple” robbery of an expensive ring from a woman’s hand has more depth and complexity than the finest cabernet. Lots of nuances, lots of different notes, a huge cast of characters.

On the surface let’s discuss the robbery itself. There allegedly were four involved in the actual robbery:

  1. The architect of the robbery
  2. The actual robber
  3. The lookout/getaway driver
  4. The victim, Carol Jimmerson

In 2021, Carol Jimmerson went to a medical appointment in Las Vegas’s Summerlin area. She parked her deep red, high-end Mercedes G-Wagon in an open parking lot at the medical center in a space that was one of the farthest away from the building, and went in for her appointment. She left the building after her appointment was over and walked back to her vehicle.

As she got to her G-Wagon, unlocked it and opened her door, a man came up from behind her, pinning her against the vehicle; she was half-in, half-out of the vehicle. A struggle ensued, and the man allegedly wrested away a very expensive diamond ring from her hand. The man then fled from Carol Jimmerson and her G-Wagon and jumped into a waiting vehicle, making his escape.

A relatively cut and dry case, right? All the appearance of the robbery being a crime of opportunity — a woman driving an expensive vehicle, wearing an expensive ring, just being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

But we believe that’s not what’s going on here. There’s much more to the story than initially meets the eye. In my opinion, it was a setup.

Who is Tony “Nino” D’Anna, & What Are His Connections?

Tony (“Nino”) D’Anna, 46 (Convicted Felon)

sigal chattah interim us attorney nevada tony-nino-danna-by-SAB

Tony “Nino” D’Anna

The origins of my involvement with Tony “Nino” D’Anna began in 2010, when I was introduced to him by a woman named Rochanna Ghafouri, a Las Vegas area Realtor, who at the time was Nino’s girlfriend. As a result of that introduction, I formed a friendship with Nino D’Anna that had been ongoing for more than 10 years.

D’Anna had been open with me in his past in conversations over time that I had with D’Anna; he admitted to being a drug dealer and convicted felon. He also told me that he did high-interest cash loans, frequently with his friend and business associate Shafik Hirji. D’Anna told me about a relationship he had with another of his one-time girlfriends. He said he had been arrested for domestic violence, home invasion and other charges related to his treatment of her.

D’Anna has an explosive and dangerous temper. His ex-girlfriend victim has her own harrowing story to tell about what happened to her at the hands of D’Anna beyond the sterile court proceedings documentation.

Judge Melanie Tobiasson had her hands all over this case. She ruled to dismiss the case, and in separate rulings over the course of the case, ruled to recall D’Anna’s arrest warrant, order D’Anna’s release under his own recognizance with intense supervision, rescinded the order of “intense supervision,” ordered no contact with the victim; then she closed the case with the note: “State Not Proceeding.” After the case concluded, however, Nino’s ex-girlfriend victim told a story of being beaten by D’Anna, driven into the Las Vegas desert, and being dumped and left for dead.

  • D’Anna, as a convicted felon, is someone who is known in the eyes of the law as a “prohibited person.” A prohibited person is someone who is not allowed to possess or buy firearms under federal law. D’Anna skirted this issue in the following way: Vickie Dehart bought firearms, which once in her possession, he had access to. D’Anna confided in me and said that Vickie Dehart purchased two “assault rifles” one of them was an FN SCAR – an AR 15-style rifle. (Similar to the one shown below.)

sigal-chattah-interim-us-attorney-nevada-fn-scar-assault-rifleThe US Department of Justice tracks all legal firearms purchases by having the purchaser fill out a Firearms Transaction Record, known as a Form 4473. It is a seven-page form that requires extensive purchaser information, including a your driver’s license number. There also is a warning that all purchasers must acknowledge, which states the following in bold-face lettering: “Warning: You are not the actual transferee/buyer if you are acquiring any of the firearm(s) on behalf of another person.” Purchasers must sign the form and acknowledge they are abiding by and have read all the legal parameters related to purchasing the firearm and the law that governs it.

It appears Nino D’Annna doesn’t understand that legal concept, nor does his keeper, Vickie Dehart.
