First Assistant US Attorney for the District of Nevada (at least for now) Sigal Chattah, can you confirm this? Did this happen? Did it not?
Is Chattah Sigal above the law when it comes to her and her son?
Allegedly these following actions took place, which were related to me by a credible one-time law enforcement officer.
I received information alleging that an incident occurred involving a man with a gun at the home of Sigal Chattah, current First Assistant US Attorney for the District of Nevada.
I’m seeking additional clarification about this incident, as it seems to be buried within governmental bureaucracy.
Based on the information I’ve received, LVMPD officers were dispatched to Chattah’s home in late spring of 2025 to respond to a report of disturbance.
As the first responding officers arrived at the scene, a person was seen on the hood of a car that was parked in Chattah’s driveway, and in the process reacting to the police arriving, somehow a firearm dropped to the ground.
Allegedly, one of the responding Metro officers drew his weapon. As anyone who handles firearms knows, especially police officers, you don’t draw a weapon unless you intend to use it. The officer apparently showed restraint and did not discharge his weapon.
The alleged person on the hood of the car turned out to be Sigal Chattah’s son. On the scene, Chattah came out of her house extremely upset, according to police sources. Officers were able to calm her down after explaining why the were there and what was going on regarding her son being detained,
No arrests were made then. We were told the alleged event disappeared from LVMPD records. No incident report can be found. Was that, perhaps, due to the high visibility and influence of Chattah’s position as the highest-ranking law enforcement officer in the state of Nevada? That question has to be formally and officially asked. I have the name of one of the responding officers to the scene, but out of respect and possible repercussions to his career, I will not name that person.
You might think from her title, that Chattah is some sort of assistant attorney associated with the District of Nevada’s top law enforcement agency. She is not. She is the head of the agency. At least for now. She was initially appointed by President Trump as “acting” US Attorney for the District of Nevada, pending Senate confirmation. When it became clear that Chattah would not survive the Senate review process to be confirmed, she then was made “interim” US Attorney for the District of Nevada. This appointment came from then-Attorney General Pam Bondi, who appointed Chattah in March 2025 as interim US Attorney for a 120-day term.
That term expired at the end of July 2025 — over one year ago. In a bit of a legal wrestling match, Chattah resigned just before that term expired and took the role of First Assistant US Attorney. Ultimately, Chattah’s nomination as US Attorney was never been forwarded to Congress.
In the meantime, back in February of this year, President Trump appointed Las Vegas attorney George Kelesis as Nevada’s US Attorney, pending Senate confirmation. His nomination has been transmitted to the Senate and is awaiting the confirmation process. There has not yet been a confirmation vote. So Chattah remains in charge of that office.
